Olive Oil

Olive Oil

Pressed from fruit, not seeds, olive oil brings a naturally low-PUFA, monounsaturated profile that turns into a creamy, non-stripping lather when saponified; it lifts daily buildup without the squeak or tightness, leaves skin balanced and comfortable, and keeps the formula radically simple - no perfumes to hide behind, no filler oils, just a clean rinse and a quiet, healthy-looking finish.

Goat's Milk

Goat's Milk

Whole goat’s milk enriches the bar with gentle lipids and milk sugars that soften the cleanse, help the lather feel dense and cushiony, and temper the harsh, “stripped” sensation common with typical natural soaps; together with olive oil, it delivers a calm, moisturized feel the moment the towel hits - clean, understated, and transparently made from ingredients anyone can recognize.

FAQ

Straight Answers

Why is olive oil the ideal base for soap?

Olive oil is mechanically pressed from olives - a simple, ancient process unchanged for thousands of years. Its 70-85% oleic acid content closely matches human sebum, while its monounsaturated fat structure remains stable without rancidity. We chose olive oil for this perfect combination: minimal processing, maximum skin compatibility, and consistent results you can trust.

Why not tallow?

Tallow quality varies wildly based on the animal's diet, processing, and rendering method - which explains why some people report "miracles" while others get breakouts from the exact same product. Olive oil delivers consistent results across all skin types, plus its 70-85% oleic acid content (versus tallow's 35-45%) better matches human sebum for reliable barrier support without the gamble.

Why not coconut oil?

Coconut oil has a comedogenic rating of 4, meaning it's likely to clog pores and cause breakouts. Olive oil (rating: 2) provides effective cleansing without the clogging risk. Plus, Coconut oil contains only 5-10% oleic acid compared to olive oil's 70-85%, making it far less compatible with human sebumThis is why many people break out from coconut-heavy "natural" soaps.

What does goat milk actually do in soap?

Goat milk contains natural lactic acid (an alpha-hydroxy acid) that gently dissolves the bonds between dead skin cells without harsh scrubbing. The milk proteins create a protective film during cleansing while its fat content (especially caprylic and capric acids) provides antimicrobial properties. This combination means you get mild exfoliation, moisture retention, and cleansing in one - explaining why goat milk soap users report smoother skin without the tightness.

What does "saponified" mean?

Saponification is the chemical reaction that turns oils into soap. When olive oil meets sodium hydroxide (lye), the fatty acids break apart and recombine into soap molecules and glycerin. The lye is completely consumed in this process - there's none left in the final bar. This is why we list "saponified olive oil" rather than the raw ingredients - it's chemically accurate since the olive oil has been transformed into soap, not just mixed in.

How long does a bar last?

For one person showering daily, a bar typically lasts up to a month. It's critical to keep the bar dry between uses - if it sits in water, it will become soft and dissolve faster. (Spoiler: Free wooden soap dish coming soon to help with this!)

Can I use this on my face?

Yes, many customers use it as their facial cleanser. The olive oil and goat milk combination is gentle enough for facial skin. Always avoid the eye area with any soap product.

Can I use this if I have allergies?

We list every ingredient transparently. Please review the ingredient list and consult with your healthcare provider if you have known allergies. Our Original contains: Saponified Olive Oil, Goat's Milk. Lavender Lemongrass adds only pure essential oils.

Why is this more expensive than store brands?

Store brands use cheap palm oil and synthetic detergents. We use premium olive oil and real goat milk. You're paying for ingredients that work with your skin, not against it.

What if it doesn't work for me?

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee. We understand switching soaps requires trust, especially after disappointing experiences with other "natural" brands.
